Castlevania Judgment for the Wii is the first two-player fighting game based on the Castlevania series has some fans in an uproar. Featuring classic characters and fighting styles of the vampire-hunting franchise, you will swing, toss, and whip your Wii Remote for attacks and use your nunchuck for movement across destructible environments in this 3D fighting game. Fans of the Castlevania franchise can look forward to choosing a whole cast of unforgettable characters from the Konami series...though the over-the-top character designs are making some 'Vania fans cry foul.

Final Battle FIGHT

Although Castlevania Judgment is highly entertaining at first, the game really starts to suck after a dozen rounds or so. It's cool that it feels like a Castlevania game, but ultimately Castlevania wasn't meant to be a 3D action fighting game.

Ugh

You just knew it was going to happen--a Castlevania fighting game. Ugh. Hopefully it will be enjoyable, but turning one of the best action series ever made into a fighting game seems a little, um, desperate.

  • Nov. 18, 2008 Review: Castlevania Judgment

Every time Castlevania steps outside of its 2D comfort zone, the series suffers from the simple fact that the whip-cracking gameplay doesn't work in 3D. Castlevania Judgment is no different. At its best, this experiment by Konami is a barely competent fighter punctuated by a sloppy camera, horrible character design, and clunky physics. Warning to Castlevania fans: buying this game may encourage a sequel. Choose wisely.
