A fitting prequel to FVII

First off this game is prequel to FFVII. It does a great job of filling you in on the the story of Cloud and why he is the way he is. At the same time explains all the events leading up to what happens in FFVII. On that note, the story line does a great job, but i fell it was a little to short. You can blow threw this game somewhat easily if you don't feel like doing the sidequests. This makes the game go by fast. Honestly, I feel if you break the game down from 100%, like 40% of the game is storyline/normal play, and 60% is missions. The new battle system is great I really enjoyed it.
Leveling up in this game is quite hard. It relies on the random DMV. Sometimes you'll get like 5 level ups in a row others you can go hours without a single level up. I found myself sitting in a mission just letting mobs hit me hours and hours just trying to get my DMW wheel to get me a level up.
Other than that the game is great. Excellent graphics, storyline, character interaction and cutscenes. A great adventure worth of your PSP collection. You should get a good bit of time out of as well if you do alot of side missions.

Great

This game is awesome. A reason to pick up a psp. Story is great being a prequel to FF7 and gameplay is also awesome. I am blown away by this game as it is for a psp game. Gameplay is like kingdom hearts in FF12 combined. Overall this a great game 5/5.

it got me to play my psp

owning a psp is very frustrating if you're not a big sports fan.

Final Fantasy Crisis Core gave me a reason to get excited about my psp again.
The story is typical FF babble at times, but what makes it so interesting is knowing that Zack is a tragic character.

the gameplay is alot like the Kingdom Hearts games, which in my opinion is great because it makes it easy to pick up and play.

The missions did get a little repetitive at times and towards the end I found my self charging through just to find out how the story ended.

Prequels can be hit or miss affairs. At their worst, they ruin all the good faith generated by the property they are following up; on the other hand, if done correctly, a good prequel can breathe new life into an existing franchise.
