Wii leads Xbox 360 by 2 mln units in U.S.

A new report shows how dominate the Nintendo console has become, launching a full year after Microsoft's Xbox 360.
The Wii sucks. People only use it to play Wii Sports. It's collecting dust. It will still fade. Right?

Some traditional gamers might still feel alienated by new ideas, but collective Americans love 'em. So much that the Wii console lead over Xbox 360 now stands at 2 million units in the U.S., according to the NPD, this despite the former launching a full year after the latter.
As it stands, Nintendo has sold 13.4 million Wii units to Microsoft's 11.6 million Xbox 360s sold. By comparison, Sony has sold just 5.7 million PS3 units since the console launched in October 2006.
The Wii also leads by a sizable global margin too. According to September filings, Nintendo has sold 35 million Wiis worldwide, followed by Microsoft with 22 million Xbox 360s, and Sony with 17 million PS3s.

I'm surprised that the PS3 is only 5 million away from 360... thought it was further behind... but I guess 360 only sells well in America, so it makes sense.

Actually, if you exclude US sales, 360 and PS3 are pretty much on par... worldwide.

Yeah Viva... just look at the music industry. You've got these CRAZY good bands barely selling 20 records, and then you have your generic rock and hip hop ranking in millions.

Awww the cries of the PS3 owners Wii is number 1 it not going nowhere working at department stores I know i sold over 100 Wiis in two weeks sold 5 360s and 2 PS3s thats the facts before the cries fanboy i own all three but i got a used 20gb PS3 for 200 which is bout how much i was willing to pay for it good games Little Big Planets is the S**t but its not 399-499 good
