Sony deleting user-created LittleBigPlanet levels without warning

The free-for-all level creation in LittleBigPlanet isn't so open after all.
Created whatever you want, but not really.
A cornerstone of PlayStation 3 platformer LittleBigPlanet is the powerful level-design tool that lets players create their own worlds and share them with friends, but early reports from users indicate Sony might be banning levels with "questionable" content.
Even worse, when Sony deletes a user-created level for copyright infringement or a similar infraction, they do so without warning. It's miffed more than a few LBP players, who have taken their complaints online at the game's official forums. Their number one complaint? That Sony eliminates the level outright, instead of allowing players to simply remove the portion of the level that is in violation of the rules
"If a level is found to be in violation of the EULA it will be moderated," said the game's senior community development via a forum response. "We're moving towards a system where additional information is given, however for the time being if you don't want your level moderating avoid anything unsuitable for users of all ages and copyright content."
If you are the target of an ban, your level will remain on the PS3 hard drive, but Sony will not allow you to upload the offending level again.
As Wired notes, many Sony partners are trying to get "official" characters and settings incorporated into the LBP universe, for a price, and this user-generated stuff is cutting into their business.
This is the second time controversy has visited the LittleBigPlanet world in the past three weeks. In late October, the game was pulled from store shelves in a massive worldwide recall, triggered by a musical track that featured passages from the Quran.

And those levels should be. People are making levels with cocks going into cunts and stuff like that. Those levels should be deleted. And if anyone actually READ the EULA agreement, they might find that it is up to the discretion of the company to decide if content is suitable for the game rating itself. How many Gamepro staffers would like their 9 year old Suzie playing the Cock and Balls level of Little Big Planet? i hope all of you are better parents than that. You should be applauding these actions and steps. They monitor this site for FREE... now try to keep your kids off any random porn site without some personal or software intervention costs... you'll be in for a rude awakening.

gp you have turned into total asses. nobody cares. if they worry about questionable content, they delete it. ms has [or is] going to start deleting bad language. that is freedom of speech.lol there is no big uproar anywhere including ps3 forums. gp cant write a decent article so they make shiit up.lol no wonder gp is considered the bottom of the barrel for game sites.
what's really sickening is when fanboys have to take the 9 year olds stance, - - - MS does it, what about MS? How come you give MS a free pass, -- MS, MS , MS, MS - - -
it's NOT about MS, it's about Sony- - - your a broken record, and your starting to sound like a jealous schoolgirl.
No one cares about your opinion of Gamepro. You complain and complain when everything doesn't go "your" way - - - wah, wah , wah...
You have been complaining about every little anti-Sony pimple that is brought up here on Gamepro for ages, . . . yet, your still here. I don't get it. Why would you stick around a place that you feel doesn't fit your views and you feel is so beneath you?
I'll tell you why... because your full of shit. your probably another PS3 talker with like 8 games to his name, a tourist... one of those kids that loves to talk about games yet doesn't own very many.
I hate to say it but ARTSABER hit the nail on the head------ READ THE AGREEMENT, then you wouldn't make any offensive levels, and they wouldn't get deleted.
READ THE AGREEMENT
READ THE AGREEMENT
READ THE AGREEMENT
READ, READ, READ, READ, READ, READ... you DO know how to READ, right?

Offensive stuff like what Artsaber Mentioned should never receive any kind of warning and should follow with a permanent ban from all online features, or even a permanent PSN wide ban.
As for the copyright stuff that's bullshit. Some really amazing levels have been removed simply for being too Good, and happening to be themed to something like Mario and god of War for example.
God of War Demon Skull & Paper Mario , 2 amazing level the Mario one was exceptionally beautiful both were removed. That's just bs!!
I got a question though unrelated but yet related. If I want to get a Nike Symbol or Nintendo logo, or something along that lines as a visible tattoo will I get sued and be forced to have it removed via Laser ?
This crap(the copyright part) has dropped the games value exponentially I'm my book,. my kids really loved that Mario level it was beautiful and later that same night it was gone.

wait.. this is a pointless article! Jack Loftus writes like it is incredibly important, but who cares? Just don't create a level that is offensive to lil'uns
