Guardian's Crusade
posted on 1/1/2000

Guardian Crusade's an overly clean, straightforward RPG that rarely shines but never disappoints. The quest will sate hardcore RPG fans looking for more of the same, but won't win over gamers looking for something fresh.

Shadow Madness

Shadow Madness could've been great - instead, you'll feel like you're attending an English class. Even though SM is still a solid game, if you only have money for one new RPG and you want some good action, go with Legend of Legaia.

Bottom of the 9th

Without an MLB license and snappier graphics, BOT9 will get lost in the N64 hardball shuffle. But if less-than-perfect graphics don't bother you, or you're a baseball newbie, BOT9 is for you.

NBA In the Zone 99

If you're a fan of the franchise or curious about the dunk Contest, give Zone a whirl. If you already own Live, you don't need to add Zone to your library - but it's definitely worth a rental to play with the updated rosters and rookies.

Triple Play 2000
posted on 1/1/2000
-
If for some reason All-Star Baseball Doesn't grab you, Triple Play 2000's the number-two title so far this season on the N64. For most, however, it'll rank as a rental at best - unless Ken Griffey Jr.'s Slugfest comes on strong, All-Star 2000's the only N64 baseball game that's worth the price of admission.

Triple Play 2000

Putting the ghost of Triple Play 99 to rest, Triple Play 2000 steps up to the plate with an exciting, action-packed ballgame and plenty of flash. It's not the most realistic baseball game, but it's definitely fun and deep enough to hold your attention.

All-Star Baseball 2000
posted on 1/1/2000
-
All-Star Baseball's double-play combo of electrifying gameplay and dynamite graphics make it the hardball game to beat this season so far. Griffey's still in development, but sports gamers would be fools to strike out on the opportunity to play Acclaim's newest grandslam title.

Rampage 2: Universal Tour
posted on 1/1/2000
-
Rampage's appeal has always been its multiplayer contests, but UT's gameplay quickly becomes monotonous after you tire of pounding everything in sight. Furthermore, UT's merely adequate graphics and grating heavy-metal soundtrack don't help, either. Rampage 2: Universal Tour is strictly rental material.
